Founder Viaano Spruyt Appointed as Council Member of National Youth Council Singapore

Today, Our Founder, Viaano Spruyt, has been appointed to the 17th National Youth Council.

Viaano sits on the council with 25 other prominent individuals in Singapore that includes Minister Edwin Tong (Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Second Minister for Law), Minister Alvin Tan (Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Trade and Industry), and SPS Rahayu Mahzam (Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health & Law).

The National Youth Council (NYC) was established on 1 November 1989 to be the central body responsible for the planning, coordination and management of youth affairs, based on the recommendations of the Advisory Council on Youth (Feb 1988 – Feb 1989) chaired by Lee Hsien Loong and approved by then First Deputy Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong.

NYC is the national coordinating body for youth development and engagement in Singapore. Since 2015, NYC has operated as an autonomous agency under the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth and houses two key institutions: Outward Bound Singapore and Youth Corps Singapore. NYC seeks to create opportunities for all Singapore youth to Be Heard, Be Empowered and Be the Change and to develop youth to be Future-ready and Committed to Singapore.
